Birth Of The Blue presents four recordings from the legendary Miles Davis sextet that would soon go on to create Kind Of Blue.

Recorded on 26 May 1958, the session features Miles Davis on trumpet, Cannonball Adderley on alto saxophone, John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, Bill Evans on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums. The music captures the ensemble in a crucial transitional moment, already moving toward the modal language and spacious approach that would become central to Kind Of Blue.

This Analogue Productions 180 g LP limited edition is mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from a new 30 IPS quarter-inch stereo master tape transferred from the original 3-track session tapes. It is plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings and presented in a Stoughton Printing Old Style tip-on gatefold jacket.
