The Last Ship is Sting’s 2013 album inspired by the shipbuilding community of Wallsend in northeast England, where he grew up.
The album is closely connected with Sting’s musical of the same name and combines singer-songwriter storytelling, folk, rock, theatrical arrangements and North East English atmosphere. Songs such as The Last Ship, Dead Man’s Boots, And Yet, August Winds and Practical Arrangement show Sting in one of his most narrative and character-driven musical settings.
This Expanded Edition 2LP was released by A&M on 5 December 2025. The edition expands the original album with additional material, including newly recorded songs connected with the renewed international stage production of The Last Ship.
